The Nominations Committee’s role is to ensure that candidates’ applications meet the experience, skills and knowledge criteria set out for the position to be elected or appointed, and then to provide assurance to the Board that applicants for appointments meet the requirements to be interviewed and to provide information to the Voting Members regarding those candidates who are standing for election.
The Nominations Committee does not have any powers of appointment or veto. These powers ultimately rests with the NISA Board for appointed positions, and with the NISA Voting Members for elected positions, in the Association.
The Nominations Committee has already been set up by the NISA Board, under the Board’s powers in the current 14 September 2013 NISA Articles. As part of the transparency requirements of the Code for Sports Governance NISA will publish the full Terms of Reference of the Audit Committee on the Association’s website.
