USEFUL INFORMATION

The muck heap field

Parking

Please park on the right hand side of Lings Lane as you drive down. This will allow farm vehicles and horses to get up and down the lane easily. There are a small number of parking spaces on the yard, though on busy days these will fill up quickly.

What to Wear

Horse rIding is an outdoor activity and we recommend to all our riders to dress suitably for the weather conditions. Warm, waterproof gear, gloves and a good pair of boots are a must. Boots should cover the ankle, have a smooth sole and a small heel. Wellies are acceptable, but trainers, sandals and flip-flops are not appropriate for riding. We would definitely not recommend skirts or shorts either, to prevent the saddle from chafing.

Riding Hats

We can lend you a British Horse Society approved standard riding helmet free of charge, and a member of staff will assist with fitting if you need help. Riders wishing to use their own should note that all hats must comply with BHS recommended standard. This includes hats with the following codes printed inside:

PAS015: (1998 or 2011) with BSI kitemark
VG1 01.0404: (2014 -12) with BSI kitemark
ASTM F1163: (2004a or 04a onwards) with SEI mark
SNELL E2001: with Official SNELL label and number
AS/NZS 3838: (2006 onwards) with SAI Global Mark.

For more information please visit the BHS website.

Customer Toilet

There is a toilet with disabled access available to customers on the yard.

Accessibility

Much of the stable yard is flat and accessible to wheelchairs as far as the manège gate, there is however a small step into the tack room. Our disabled toilet is fully accessible.

Food and Drink

We don’t have public catering facilities ourselves, or provide vending machines, but there are various places in Keyworth village where you can pick up a coffee, cake or a sandwich to take away. There are also several pubs and restaurants in walking distance from the stables for a more substantial meal.
